Alaïa has never needed to do too much to make a statement. The house’s latest campaign is a reminder of just how much can be said through silhouette alone. For Winter Spring 2027, the brand revisits its signature codes of sculptural tailoring, precise proportions and body-conscious dressing, with a new series of images starring Doutzen Kroes and Lina Zhang.

Photographed by Drew Vickers, who also shot the very first Archetypes campaign in 2023, the images are presented as a series of diptychs, pairing intimate close-up portraits with full-length looks. The contrast is deliberate. One moment focuses on the models’ expressions and presence, the next on the architecture of the clothes themselves. The result feels both powerful and understated, with the photography bringing a sense of intimacy to the collection’s more sculptural pieces.

At the centre of the collection is Alaïa’s ongoing exploration of the female form. Second-skin knitwear traces the body’s contours, peplum detailing defines the waist, and signature tailoring plays with proportion to create new volumes. There’s a particular focus on the relationship between structure and fluidity, with each piece balancing precision and movement.

It’s a confident return to the house’s fundamentals, but one that doesn’t feel particularly interested in reinventing them. Instead, the campaign makes a case for the enduring appeal of Alaïa’s visual language: strong silhouettes, thoughtful construction and a very particular understanding of femininity. Sometimes the most compelling fashion images are the ones that know exactly what they want to say.
