One of our favourite Scandinavian brands, Acne Studios presented their Fall/Winter 2025 collection in Paris, which was an exploration in the contrast between nature and urban life, reflecting creative director Jonny Johansson’s Nordic roots. The collection portrays the tension between these two environments and the illusion that they can coexist.
The runway featured a futuristic skyline juxtaposed with woven sculptures by Swedish design duo Front, inspired by natural landscapes. Johansson sought to create a dialogue between artificial and organic elements.
Outerwear and tailoring feature rounded sleeves and shoulders, echoing a power suit’s volume. Flowing dresses and short hemlines emphasize movement, while 1970s influences emerge in draped fabrics, sculpted bodysuits, and silk scarves repurposed into tops and dresses.
The collection contrasts leather textures—smooth and bonded versus handwashed and crinkled. Faux fur, shearling, and flocked denim add worn softness. Lightweight, transparent fabrics cut on the bias enhance fluidity, while denim is treated to preserve creases or bonded with vinyl for structure.
Warm browns, oat, honey, and beige mix with bold 1970s shades of Bordeaux red, purple, and gold. Black provides a graphic edge. Prints include distorted projections, teddy bear polka dots, and nostalgic plaids and stripes.
Footwear balances comfort and sensuality. Padded felt boots mimic a soft toe, while pumps feature peep-toes or warped leather. Classic penny loafers are reimagined as boots or heels in faux ostrich, lizard, and alligator textures.
New arrivals include the supersized Camero Hotel bag, alongside the Multipocket bucket bag and the Bowlina in fresh colors and textures like faux ostrich and shearling.
Jewelry draws from office items, with pendants shaped like luxury pens and notebooks in silver and gold. Bold, heart-shaped belt buckles and oversized aviator sunglasses complete the accessories.
