Washington, D.C’s National Museum of Women in the Arts is hosting its first-ever fashion exhibition in honour of its 30th anniversary.
The museum has chosen luxury label Rodarte, founded by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, for its unconventional, yet chic, punk-rock design.
In a recent interview with WWD, Susan Fisher Sterling, Director of NMWA, said of the designers:
“They work a lot like artists in the sense that they’re almost artisanal in the way they produce their work; they somewhat go against the grain of having a really huge schedule of shows.”
The exhibit is slated to open next fall.
Washington, anyone?
