There are fewer things more pleasant to see then a slowly fading fashion house, reinvent itself by hiring a new and talented designer to reinvigorate the brand. The most prominent example I can think of is Tom Ford’s stunning and beautiful work for Gucci that helped to revitalize the brand. This has also taken place with Nicolas Ghesquiere, who took over the helm of French luxury brand Balenciaga. Nicolas Ghesquiere’s vision and direction has helped the brand make a remarkably strong resurgence in relevance in recent years, especially within the mens collection. This is more mark-ably noticeable in the sneaker line-up of the last couple of seasons, as Balenciaga has become more bold and daring. For the Spring/Summer 2010 collection several pairs of high top sneakers, each featuring different premium materials, and tonal colours on the upper, all of which come off strong. These high tops may not be the easiest to pair with an outfit to hit the clubs in but they still will pull together a slick as f**k outfit.
