Toronto punk rock band Fucked Up is currently streaming their new David Comes to Life, the massive new rock opera now over at NPR. David Comes to Life drops June 7 via Matador and is the bands highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s The Chemistry of Common Life. The meta-plotted album was recorded with Sleigh Bells producer Shane Stoneback and is 18 songs / 78 minutes long, all of which takes place in a fictional late-70s/early-80s British town, aka Margaret Thatcher’s England.
Head on over to NPR now to stream the beast, but before you do that watch the clip below and watch as the band discusses their journey to grow beyond the boundaries of “hardcore” as well as the trials and tribulations of creating the record. Enjoy!
