For todays rubber boot round-up I’ve decided to set my sights higher and focus on the more expensive intricate designs of Dior, Tory Burch, Tod’s, and Aquatalia. I love the luxurious combinations of leather, patent leather and PVC, not to mention comfort and a pair of heels to boot (no pun intended)!
The Tory Burch (below upper left) Colson Boots are leather with a tonal rubber foot, brown suede embossed logo, and have stylish buckle at the ankle ($295US). The Tod’s (below upper right) Aspen Tronchettto boots are also patent leather with about a 3 1/2 inch heel and rubber sole for added traction ($650US). The Christian Dior Grey Rubber and Patent Leather Flat Boots (below bottom left) feature a pretty logo plate on the upper calve, are the most durable, and pretty of the round-up (function and beauty at a price, $465US). And last but certainly not least, the Aquatalia Knit-Collar Quilted Boots (Below bottom right) are made of weather-proof patent leather, have a knit cuff, drawstring tassel detail, and a rubber sole ($425US).
I think I like the Doir boots most for their appearance, the Tod’s for the fancy heel, and the Aqutalia’s for their durability as an excellent alternative to the Hunter Wellies that are rather chilly to wear in icy Canadian weather! Sorry Tory, but I liked the patent rubber boots from Fall Winter 2008 much better than the manly Colsons this year.
