Last year, SOREL’s Callsign™ silhouette caught our attention. A sneaker-inspired boot that could handle winter was a welcome addition to the rotation, and the colourways and collaborations, especially Aries and Barbour, made it even better.
This year, our attention turns to the Daystorm Horizon™ and a collaboration with one of our longtime favourites, Maharishi. We’ve been into the brand since discovering its military-inspired trousers, long before the relaxed silhouette came back around. At one point, Maharishi made up about 80 per cent of our everyday trouser rotation, so naturally, this one caught our eye.
The SOREL x Maharishi Daystorm Horizon™ Zip GTX brings together GORE-TEX® protection and SOREL’s signature five-finger toe cap with a green canvas upper, Bonsai Tigerstripe camouflage, military lacing and a removable zip shroud. Maharishi’s pacifist take on military design gives the boot a distinctive utilitarian edge, while SOREL brings the technical details needed for the colder months.
It’s a natural meeting of two brands with distinct perspectives on function and design. With fall giving way to winter, the Daystorm Horizon™ Zip GTX feels like a pretty good place to start.
