For his latest Dior collection, Jonathan Anderson makes a compelling case for the beauty of lightness. His Summer 2027 collection is romantic, technically impressive and, above all, exceptionally pretty, exploring what happens when Dior’s traditionally structured silhouettes are allowed to almost float.

Tailoring becomes super light, while lace, silk mousseline and organza are treated almost like air. Transparency moves between sheer and opaque, creating dresses and separates that seem to shift with the body. Long scarves fall asymmetrically from the shoulder, cascading gemstone earrings add movement, and flower-like volumes return from the previous season in softer, more summery forms.

There are also flashes of Anderson’s more playful side here. Sheer suiting, metallic five-pocket trousers and an embroidered trompe l’oeil scarf motif bring a slightly irreverent edge, while early Dior silhouettes are reinterpreted through a decidedly contemporary lens.

Accessories are equally charming. Flower photographs appear on square-toe heels, the Dior Bow Sandal returns in a new form, and the new Cigale features a petal-shaped sole. Bags range from updated versions of the Dior Double and Initial Hobo to a biker-inspired style finished with Cannage stitching and D-I-O-R hardware.

But it’s the clothes that make the strongest impression this season. Anderson understands that Dior can be fantastical without being heavy, and this collection feels like a particularly beautiful expression of that idea. Fluid, feminine and full of movement, it suggests a Dior that is learning how to breathe.
