For her second collection at Marni, Meryll Rogge seems less interested in reinventing the house than figuring out what is worth keeping. And that feels like a smart direction. If her debut was an introduction, Spring/Summer 2027 feels more assured, with Rogge beginning to understand how far she can push Marni without losing the beloved eccentric, art-minded spirit.

Built around the idea of revealing the inner workings of a garment, the collection cuts in exposing linings turning construction into decorative charm. Cut-outs frame the body, backless knits disrupt traditional menswear, transparent fabrics reveal flashes of skin, and familiar Marni signatures are sliced apart and reworked. The Modernista bag is opened up, while the Trunkette returns in a lighter form.

Femininity is similarly deconstructed. Brassière shapes become part of the garments, underwear details move outward, and oversized buttons and loops become playful design elements. Prints, sequins, hardware and Marni’s signature triple stitch are all given new roles.

The result feels distinctly Marni, but less reverential. For a second collection, that sense of discovery feels very promising as Rogge continues to pull the house codes apart and put them back together in unexpected ways.
