Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are bringing their longtime friendship to Apple TV with Brothers, a new comedy that turns their real-life chemistry into a story about family, fame and an unexpected secret.
The eight-episode series stars the two friends as fictionalized versions of themselves. After Woody’s daughter’s wedding falls apart, he brings his family to Matthew’s Austin ranch for an extended stay. What starts as a chance to regroup quickly changes when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, reveals a decades-old secret that the two might actually be brothers.
As Woody searches for answers, Matthew faces his own identity crisis while considering a potential run for Governor of Texas. The result is a comedy about friendship, family and the complicated line between public image and personal history.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios for Apple TV, Brothers is showrun and executive-produced by Lee Eisenberg, a multi-Emmy Award nominee and Peabody Award winner. The series also features Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, Oona Yaffe and Holland Taylor.
McConaughey, Harrelson and Eisenberg executive produce alongside Natalie Sandy, David West Read, Trish Hofmann, Bill Bost, Jason Winer, David Finkel, Brett Baer and Jeremy Plager. Trent O’Donnell directs multiple episodes, including the pilot.
The first two episodes of Brothers are now available on Apple TV, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday through November 4, 2026.
