Michael Kors brought architectural modernism to New York’s Museum of Modern Art on Friday for Spring/Summer 2027, staging the collection against the distinctive backdrop of the Sculpture Garden. The celebs were out in full force with a star studded front row including Gabrielle Union, Olivia Munn, Lea Michele, Lisa Rinna, Rachel Zoe, Nicky Hilton Rothschild and others.
The collection was a study in bold simplicity, balancing slim, straight tailoring with shrunken proportions, curved lines and sculptural dresses. Crisp stripes and gingham brought graphic definition, while painterly florals and unexpected colour blocking introduced a more artistic edge. Striking grassey green, sunflower yellow, bold coral and wave blue injected energy into the palette, while cotton and wool blends gave the season a more versatile, seasonless appeal.
Accessories continued the architectural theme with sculptural bags and footwear, oversized eyewear and mid-century inspired jewellery. Models including Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, Anok Yai and Julia Nobis walked the runway as Kors explored the style tribes that converge at museums, galleries and openings.
The result was classic Michael Kors with a sharper, more graphic point of view, proving that modernism can feel both highly considered and immediately wearable.
