Polestar has always felt like one of the quieter players in the electric performance space. While other brands chase attention, the Swedish company has built its identity around restraint, Scandinavian design and a focus on making technology feel intentional. With the Formula 2030 concept car, Polestar is showing how that approach could evolve.
Created under Head of Design Philipp Römers, Formula 2030 is a look at the brand’s next design direction. The concept pushes Polestar’s existing language forward with new ideas around exterior and interior design, materials and sustainability, while keeping recognizable details like the Dual Blade headlights that have become part of its identity.

The concept previews design elements expected to appear on the next Polestar 2, planned for 2027, as well as the upcoming Polestar 7 compact SUV. It is not a production vehicle, but it offers a glimpse at the ideas shaping the company’s next generation of cars.
“Polestar’s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before,” said Römers.
Formula 2030 was first shown privately to Polestar investors, retailers and select customers at The Cube, the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. The concept will later make its global debut during the media drive of the Polestar 4 SUV.
More than a futuristic showpiece, Formula 2030 is a statement of direction. Polestar is not trying to reinvent itself. It is refining what made people pay attention in the first place.
