Alaïa has always understood the most powerful images begin with something as simple as the human form. For their Summer Fall 2026 campaign, the maison turns to multidisciplinary artist Teyana Taylor, whose relationship with movement, dance, and performance makes her a natural embodiment of Alaïa’s sculptural approach to the female silhouette.
Photographed and directed by David Sims, the campaign is stripped back: just Taylor, the clothes, and the body in motion. Shot entirely in black and white, the imagery focuses attention on the architectural qualities of the collection, capturing Taylor in a series of dynamic poses, suspended balances, and tightly framed portraits revealing her immense physical strength and quieter expressions.
The casting also continues a long-standing Alaïa dialogue with women whose presence transcends fashion. From Grace Jones to Tina Turner, Alaïa has historically gravitated toward artists with an unmistakable stage presence and an ability to command the room. Taylor carries that legacy into a new generation, bringing her own athleticism, sensuality, and unapologetic energy to the Summer Fall 2026 collection.
The collection itself is centred around Alaïa’s ongoing exploration of form including signature second-skin knit dresses and sculptural silhouettes that emphasize curves and movement. A metallic-embellished mini dress catches the light, alongside a jersey design punctuated by anatomical cut-outs that subtly redefine the waist.
A sense of tension runs through the campaign between structure and movement. The clothes are highly considered and precisely crafted, yet Taylor never appears restricted, emphasizing Alaïa’s belief that exceptional craftsmanship should ultimately serve the body.
“Strong, sensual, and completely in the spirit of Alaïa,” Taylor says of the collaboration, describing her long-standing connection to the House and its ability to create clothing that allows women to own who they are without saying too much.
The supporting film extends this idea, moving through a succession of portraits and silhouettes as Taylor shifts between stillness and motion.
