Spyker returned to The Quail during Monterey Car Week 2026 with the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé, a hand-built 800hp manual hypercar that signals another chapter for the Dutch marque. While the name carries over from the Preliator, Spyker says the XXV was created from a clean sheet, featuring a new in-house-engineered spaceframe and hand-formed aluminum bodywork built by Coventry Prototype Panels in England.
The headline figure is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 800hp and 1000Nm, paired with a traditional manual gearbox. No paddles, no automated shifting. The exposed linkage remains a defining part of the cabin, keeping the driver connected to the mechanical character Spyker has built its reputation around.
Inside, the XXV stays focused on craftsmanship over screens. A head-up display is the only digital interface, while turned aluminum, aerospace-inspired isogrid patterns and carefully finished details dominate the interior. The aviation influence continues outside, with NACA ducts, jet-afterburner-inspired rear lights, and a tail fin referencing the 1919 Spyker C1 Aerocoque.
Every car requires around 2100 hours to construct, with details like the stitched steering wheel and manually aligned screw heads showing the level of attention that goes into each build. The Quail display car is chassis number 270, finished in metallic Quail Green with rose gold detailing and Tuscan Saddle leather.
Limited to 25 individually commissioned examples, the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé marks a fresh era for Spyker following investment from Volodymyr Nosov and a partnership with W Group. The company is also looking ahead, with plans for the D8 Peking-to-Paris SSUV and a return to GT3 endurance racing.
