Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s SS27 collection, AEOLIAN AFTERNOON, arrives as a surreal daytime television broadcast hosted by LOVERBOY creatures Grom and Lin. Set in a soft-apocalyptic media landscape, the project imagines a world where fashion, entertainment, commerce, and survival have become inseparable, with the Ominous Growing Brick serving as a symbol of algorithms, consumer culture, and the endless demand for attention.

Building on themes introduced in AW26, the collection balances analogue craft with digital ennui through drawing, collage and DIY experimentation. LOVERBOY’s signature gender fluid approach returns with “allergic” tailoring that twists familiar silhouettes into odd new forms. Cursed animal bags, floral artisanal beanies and handcrafted embellishments sit alongside military and vintage-inspired pieces finished with rips, splatters and chemical treatments. A Renaissance-inspired colour palette developed from fruit and vegetables, mud-stained denim, rebuilt footwear and intentionally wonky knitwear reinforces the collection’s hands-on DIY spirit.

Named after the Aeolian minor scale, AEOLIAN AFTERNOON also introduces a new single produced by Tom Furse and Robert Fox. Inspired by Terry Riley and the atmosphere of continuous television broadcasts, the soundtrack runs through the project like a fuzzy signal, bringing together fashion, music, image and performance in the latest chapter from Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY.
