Florence’s Pitti Uomo continued its streak spotlighting fashion’s most forward-thinking voices yesterday with a special presentation from DSM Kei Ninomiya. Invited as a guest designer for the fair’s 110th edition, the Japanese creative brought his signature experimental sensibility to to the menswear fair, delivering a collection that challenged traditional ideas of menswear.

Best known for his intricate constructions and sculptural work under the Comme des Garçons umbrella, Ninomiya used the Pitti platform to showcase a more accessible side of his vision through DSM Kei Ninomiya, the first label developed for Dover Street Market. The Spring/Summer 2027 collection blended technical tailoring, lightweight outerwear and fluid silhouettes, proposing a vision that felt ageless, genderless and distinctly contemporary.

Set against the backdrop of Florence, the presentation underscored Pitti Uomo’s ongoing commitment to creativity and innovation, placing Ninomiya alongside fellow guest designers Simone Rocha and Jiyong Kim as key voices shaping the future of fashion. As luxury brands continue to search for new directions, Ninomiya offered a compelling reminder that experimentation remains one of fashion’s most powerful tools.
