Tokyo-born brothers Kaiharubro step into the latest installment of Aimé Leon Dore’s SOUND, the ongoing series of hour-long DJ sets recorded inside the Aimé Leon Dore sound rooms in New York and London. Built around focused listening and thoughtful selection, the series continues to spotlight artists whose approach to DJing is rooted as much in musical knowledge as technical ability.

For their session at 214 Mulberry, Kaiharubro deliver a selection of classic and underground hip hop, punctuated by their signature sharp turntable technique. Moving between foundational records, deep cuts, and unexpected transitions, the brothers showcase the precision and record knowledge that have made them standouts in Japan’s DJ community and beyond.

Raised in Tokyo’s deeply respected turntablist culture, Kaiharubro represent a generation of DJs that place equal emphasis on crate digging, craftsmanship, and performance. Their sets balance technical skill with thoughtful curation, creating a listening experience that feels both effortless and meticulously assembled.

As with previous SOUND releases, the setting remains intentionally understated. Recorded inside the New York flagship’s sound room, the session strips away distractions and leaves the focus on the music itself. The result is another strong addition to the growing SOUND archive, capturing Kaiharubro’s distinct approach over an hour of hip-hop, technique, and deep musical curiosity.
