Dyson has scaled down its flagship hair dryer with the new Supersonic Travel, designed for frequent flyers and gym goers who want high-end styling performance in a more portable form. It retails for $299.99 USD or $399.99 CAD, shifting the device from a bathroom staple to something built for travel.

The redesign is substantial. It is 32 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than the original 2016 Supersonic, making it easier to pack and carry. Despite the reduced size, Dyson positions it as a portable extension of its existing ecosystem rather than a stripped-down version.

Universal-voltage technology is a key upgrade, with the dryer automatically adapting to 100-240 volts. This removes the need for external converters and simplifies styling while travelling internationally.

Performance remains central. Intelligent heat control measures airflow temperature over 100 times per second to regulate output and protect shine. Internal testing claims hair is 138 percent shinier than when air-drying naturally, reinforcing Dyson’s focus on finish and damage prevention.

Compatibility carries over from the wider Supersonic and Nural lineup, with support for existing magnetic attachments, such as diffusers, wide-tooth combs, and concentrators. This allows users to keep their current styling setup without change.

The Ceramic pink and Rose gold release includes a complimentary carrying bag, so you get a practical travel accessory right out of the box.

Durability testing simulates drops and bag pressure to reflect real travel conditions. Overall, the Supersonic Travel reflects a broader shift toward grooming tools designed to move with the user rather than stay in one place.
