Dyson is bringing its airflow obsession into a smaller lane with the HushJet Mini Cool, the brand’s first handheld fan. It keeps things tight at 212 grams, built for daily carry but still rooted in the same engineering mindset that’s made Dyson a staple in the space.

Under the hood, a brushless motor spins up to 65,000 RPM, pushing air at speeds around 25 meters per second. That airflow is funnelled through a 38 mm HushJet nozzle, which helps keep things smooth while cutting down on the sharper noise you’d expect from something this compact. It feels considered, not gimmicky.

There are five airflow settings, plus a Boost mode for when you actually need it, with sound levels ranging from 52 to 72.5 dBA. A 5,000 mAh battery gives you up to six hours of use, and USB-C charging keeps it in line with everything else you’re carrying.

Where it lands a bit differently is in how it’s meant to move with you. It can be used as a standard handheld, placed on a desk with its charging dock, or worn with a lanyard for hands-free cooling. Dyson is also planning extra mounts and clips, pushing it further into everyday carry territory.

It arrives in a set of muted colourways rolling out through the season, starting with Stone and Blush. At $99 USD the HushJet Mini Cool leans into that familiar Dyson approach, taking something basic and dialling it up with a bit more intention.
