The LOEWE FOUNDATION has unveiled the 30 finalists for its 2026 Craft Prize, with the shortlisted works set to be exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore from May 13th to June 14th 2026. The winner, along with two special mentions, will be announced on May 12th with the top prize carrying an award of €50,000.

Launched in 2016 as a tribute to Loewe’s origins as a craft workshop in 1846, the Prize continues to position craft as a living language shaped by continuity and change. This edition also marks the first time creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will sit on the jury.

Selected from more than 5,100 submissions across 133 countries and regions, this year’s 30 finalists represent 19 countries with works spanning across ceramics, textiles, wood, glass, metal, jewellery and more. The panel focuses on technical accomplishment, innovation and artistic vision, but what emerges is a broader meditation on tension and transformation in contemporary craft.

Across the shortlist, balance meets instability. Geometries are softened, smooth surfaces interrupted, restrained palettes disrupted by shifts in colour. Acts of cutting, bending, weaving and layering embed ideas of growth, decay and renewal directly into the works themselves.

The year the foundation will also launch new artist residencies in partnership with Belmond, offering selected alumni time to develop new work in Mallorca. For now, all eyes turn to Singapore, where the shortlisted works will soon come together in dialogue.
