If there’s one thing we hold near and dear to our hearts at Sidewalk Hustle, it’s abold crossover between high fashion and heritage athletic design. And this past weekend, Thom Browne quietly delivered revealed his first collaboration with ASICS.
Unveiled during the GQ Bowl 2026 runway event at San Francisco’s Legion of Honour museum, the partnership with ASICS signals a new chapter for the designer’s creative universe; its first true design partnership with a sneaker brand at scale.
Rather than overhaul the shoe’s performance, Browne honoured its heritage, elevating the GEL-KAYANO 14’s potential with a tonal study in mesh and plush suede perfectly harmonizing with Browne’s longstanding grayscale palette, adding on two more pairs in black and white which are also slated to drop on March 2nd, 2026. The release follows a long list of collaborators like Kiko Kostadinov, JJJJound, Kith, Atmos and others who have all had their take on the silhouette.
What truly distinguishes the collaboration is the incorporation of Browne’s unmistakable design language. The signature red-white-and-blue grosgrain pull tab functions as a bold yet functional nod to the brand transforming the performance runner into a sartorial object.

The GQ Bowl amplified the moment, now in its second year and co-presented by ASICS and GQ, the event blends fashion with the spirit of American football, a long-standing influence in Browne’s work. Browne’s athletic roots, and his affinity for sport as both aesthetic and cultural force, were on full display as models and NFL icons took to the runway in looks with sport-infused tailoring.
With its technical underpinnings, luxury details, and strategic debut tied to one of fashion’s most talked-about events of the season, the Thom Browne x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 is quintessential moment for both brands and a sign of how deeply the worlds of performance and fashion have become entangled.
