At Men’s Fashion Week in Milan, Uma Wang found her inspiration for fall/winter 2026 in the vibrant Shanghai of the early 1930s. This particular period is noteworthy as the city was undergoing a pivotal transformation, when a modern Western perspective first intersected with Chinese classical culture.
Wang captured this cultural awakening with the dramatic silhouettes she explored, taking her own unique perspective on all of the key pieces in a mens wardrobe — from the classic shirt to utilitarian workwear. The evolving textures and shapes, ranging from padded jackets with stripes to gauzy cotton, were done to “echo the memory of ancient Chinese fabrics, reinterpreted through a modern lens,” the release detailed.
The collection had a languid feel, with the slouchy pants, oversized suits, and voluminous jackets. Many of the looks were finished with bowler hats, tying back to the nod to British sensibility.
