Paris Fashion Week had no shortage of standout moments, but Colm Dillane of KidSuper might’ve dropped the most unforgettable one—literally on four wheels. In a high-octane crossover between fashion and automotive art, KidSuper and Mercedes-Benz teamed up to debut the wildly reimagined “Superclass” CLA concept car, right in the courtyard of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
This wasn’t just a wrap job or branding stunt. The car was completely transformed—think winged spoilers, rally-style roof rack, a giant slingshot mounted up front, and cartoonish balloon details, all anchored by Dillane’s signature whimsical artwork. It’s streetwear surrealism built onto a sleek, future-forward chassis, with nods to vintage Mercedes models like the F 200 and the 300 SL tucked into the design.
Inside the museum, KidSuper’s runway show doubled down on this joyful chaos. The “Superclass” served as the muse for a 13-look capsule collection, loaded with bold textures and eccentric speedy tailoring. Scheduled for release this September, the collection brings elements of the vehicle into wearable form—equal parts irreverent and ingenious.
The drop is part of Mercedes-Benz’s ongoing “Class of Creators” campaign, which we got a sneak preview of back in Rome this spring along with the new CLA. It spotlights boundary-pushing artists and tastemakers like Ice Spice and Gustaf Westman, but KidSuper leaves his own, wildly original mark with a concept that’s as much performance art as it is design.
Where others leaned minimalist this season, KidSuper reminded us that fashion, like a good car, should always have personality—and maybe even a sense of humor.
