The Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2025 Men’s Collection, “Remember the Future,” made waves at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, offering a compelling mix of heritage and innovation. The collection, curated by Pharrell Williams and Nigo, reflected their enduring friendship and influence on streetwear culture. Their creative synergy brought a fresh perspective to Louis Vuitton’s renowned craftsmanship, blending classic elements with contemporary aesthetics. The show featured a full live orchestra set against the stunning backdrop of the Cour Carrée du Louvre. Exquisite.

Paying homage to Nigo’s archives of 20th-century workwear, the designs were reinterpreted through Pharrell’s visionary lens. Dominated by earthy tones but with some beautiful soft pink pieces, the collection featured tailored silhouettes, oversized coats, and relaxed ensembles that balanced functionality with high fashion. Japanese influences were prominent throughout, with traditional techniques like sashiko stitching and kasuri weaving integrated into Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram, creating a harmonious fusion of French and Japanese craftsmanship.

While Pharrell and Nigo’s streetwear roots were evident in the styling—through sneakers, leather jackets, and hats—the collection leaned heavily into high-fashion territory with button-up shirts, ties, trench coats, and tailored slacks. Pharrell’s focus on materials, like aged leather and reimagined gold trims, added an opulent, luxurious edge to the collection. The collection featured several lobster references, including an actual lobster accessory. This little wink-wink moment pays homage to when Pharrell and NIGO went fishing in Japan and unexpectedly caught a lobster.

Several standout looks graced the runway, running the gamut from full denim workwear vibes to 70s/80s leisure suit energy, with many varsity and coach jackets calling my name. Most were paired with hyper-exaggerated chunky skateboard sneakers, giving Nike Cortez inspo. Accessories included intricately designed bags, the speedy still out there stealing our hearts, and the Damier “Phriendship” series, which featured silhouettes of Pharrell and Nigo, and reimagined Louis Vuitton trunks inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies. These big boy trunks were walked down the circular runway on dollies by “workers’ in functional workwear pieces.

Pharrell, who assumed the role of Men’s Creative Director in February 2023, has seamlessly woven music, art, and culture into the brand’s DNA. Making each of his collection presentations a full superstar performance, often with new music being debuted. This time, it came in the form of LV ambassador J-Hope’s new track with Don Toliver; it’s kinda fire, tbh. A ton of celebs were on hand, as they always are, this time featuring NBA star Victor Wembanyama, rapper Travis Scott, and actors Edris Elba, Adrien Brody, Bradley Cooper, and much more.

In contrast to Virgil Abloh’s playful and experimental approach, Pharrell has grounded his vision in Louis Vuitton’s storied tradition while updating it for modern tastes. With his leadership and Nigo’s collaboration, Louis Vuitton’s menswear has entered a new era that marries cultural narratives with timeless craftsmanship, redefining what luxury menswear can be.

Does “Remember the Future” strike the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, or does it signal a more significant shift in Louis Vuitton’s identity?
