French fashion powerhouse Louis Vuitton closed out women’s spring summer 2025 fashion week in Paris with yet another visually impactful runway show. Once again, taking place inside a specially constructed tent in a courtyard at the Louvre, the runway show was a visual work of art. The show started with over a thousand LV trunks rising from the floor to become the runway before the models walked in designer Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest collection. The collection paid special homage to one of Ghesquière’s earliest successes for Louis Vuitton in the form of the Petite Malle handbag, a miniature take on Vuitton’s iconic trunk. Flash forward ten years, and ten versions of the Petite Malle were showcased during the show.

The Louis Vuitton Women’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection played with the themes of contrast and movement. The colour palette embraced a moodier, darker tone than expected for a Spring-Summer collection, with neutrals dominating but contrasted by black, navy, and earthy tones. The collection remained vibrant with printed silks, featuring diagonal stripes and graphic designs. French artist Laurent Grasso created selected pieces that reprise five paintings from the Studies into the Past series that appeared on iridescent shirts and sparkly skirts.

Of course, it isn’t an LV show without a healthy dose of covetable leather goods, including the Petite mentioned above Mallebad, which also came in a concrete version, the reintroduction of the archival Greenwich bag, a new top-handled satchel designed with the softness of a leather jacket, and more.
