Italian luxury supercar manufacturer Ferrari has wrapped their Capital Markets Day, with it came some electric news. The brand has announced they will build their first electric sportscar by 2025, aiming for 40% of all production being pure EVs and 80% electrified by 2030. Included with that 2030 date also comes a plan to be carbon neutral as well.
To accomplish this feat, Ferrari will expand its Maranello plant to make the EVs and assemble the batteries. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna explained, “With their unwavering commitment and passion, the women and men of Ferrari are determined to flawlessly execute this strategic plan and to build on all the opportunities that lie ahead, embracing our founder’s will: to keep alive the will to progress pursued in the past. We will continue to draw on our competitive advantages: uniqueness and technological leadership, whilst taking actions to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.”
