The value of community is central to the streetwear and sneaker scenes and Nike has collaborated with London collective The Basement to highlight the importance of community and create a London-exclusive Dunk Low “BSMNT.”

The shoe itself was designed by Basement member Daniel Pacitti and features nine different materials (14OZ canvas, double twill canvas, mesh, nubuck, denim, corduroy, flat leather, tumbled leather and 3M) to represent the collective’s support of youth and multiculturalism within their own community.

“At its heart, The Basement is all about creating opportunities for young people,” said Pacitti. “When designing the shoe, we made each panel a different material to represent the diversity within our community. When they come together, they form something more beautiful and more powerful.”
