Torontonian future soul R&B infused act a l l i e has been making waves in the 6ix for a minute now and for good reason. To put it simply, she’s really dope – for example, you may recognize her voice from Harrison’s jam of a track “Vertigo”. Earlier this summer the quickly rising star announced the hotly anticipated news of her debut album, titled Nightshade, which is due out at the end of this month. The upcoming album features fellow Toronto talents River Tiber, Charlotte Day Wilson, Harrison & more. Today we finally get a first sonic taste of Nightshade with the album’s lead single “Bad Habits” produced by Birthday Boy. The track goes down smooth like a nice whiskey, as a l l i e sings about drowning the anxieties of performing for an audience (that only sees her as eye candy) with alcohol.
