After just 16 months with the brand artistic director Bouchra Jarrar is leaving Lanvin.
Jarrar succeeded Alber Elbaz, who had been with Lanvin for 14 years prior to his departure. Jarrar also shut down her own eponymous label in order to put all her focus on the French label.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post earlier this year, Jarrar has said:
“I wanted to dedicate my whole self to Lanvin, to relaunch the maison and brand, so I shut my own label down… But I need the whole house’s support; alone it’s impossible.”
Unfortunately, her efforts have not been as successful as hoped both with consumers and from a business perspective with the brand’s revenue continuing to decrease. No word yet on Jarrar’s successor. Stay tuned!
