After selling out Toronto’s The Rex Hotel in March, ACID JAZZ has announced their upcoming self-titled EP and shared the first single, “MANDEM.”
ACID JAZZ is the collaborative project between Toronto rapper DillanPonders and instrumental outfit Jazz Money. “MANDEM” originally appeared on Ponders’ 2016 album Acid Reign but the ACID JAZZ reinterpretation is a completely different experience and features a particularly killer trumpet solo by Tom Moffet at the conclusion.
Listen to “MANDEM” below. While the group hasn’t confirmed a release date, they’re performing selections from the EP on Saturday, June 24 at The Pilot Tavern as part of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.
