Not long ago, noted brilliant Baltimore live act Future Islands released their new album The Far Field. One of the songs on that new album is “Cave,” a sweet goodbye song with lyrics like “I don’t believe anymore / I won’t grieve anymore / cuz what was gold, is gone and cold.” Last night, Future Islands were Conan’s musical guests and they rocked the stage with a performance of the track in question.
Energetic and enigmatic frontman Samuel T. Herring pounds his chest and growls from his soul in such a real way that at the end of their performance Conan says, “you seemed to mean that!” Indeed, he totally does.
