With over 15 years of touring under his belt, Banhart knows how to give an audience what they want and he proved to a nearly sold-out crowd at the Phoenix. Backed by a tight band, Banhart spent much of the set traversing the front of the stage, smiling and touching people, between returning to the centre of the stage to sing. He closed out a lengthy set with 2007’s “Carmensita,” much to the delight of the crowd.
