We all know and love little Jane Aldridge, style maven extraordinare, who writes the blog Sea of Shoes. I use the adjective little to describe 18-year-old Aldridge, but her blogger fame is anything but small. That also goes for her designer shoe collection which is positively huge; not to mention her mother, Judy who also has a massive collection, which Jane luckily fits into and borrows regularly.
Jane has been featured in Teen Vogue, Elle, Refinery29, The Wall Street Journal, Style.com, (to name just a few) and of course who could forget the epic Vogue spread back in August that featured Jane and her Mother Judy, who also has her own blog, Atlantis Home. Sea of Shoes was also the inspiration for Holt Renfrew’s July window display alongside other bloggers like The Sartorialist, Jak & Jil, and Garance Dore. Even Mr. Kanye West recognized Aldridge’s talents in his most excellent blog this past March.
Jane’s natural talent for fashion has translated into many areas such as modeling, styling, and most recently designing. Urban Outfitters teamed up with Jane to design a small holiday collection of affordable shoes under the label J. Aldridge by Sea Of Shoes. Prices range from $58.00 US for a pair of flats, up to $158.00 US for a pair of lace up boots.
To be honest, although I’m obsessed with Jane and her blog, I can’t say I’d go running to Urban Outfitters for any of these shoes. I’d much prefer her to do a line of more affordable designer inspired looks for somewhere like Payless, Forever21, or H&M. What do you think?
