GapFit is back in full force for the fall season, not only with a new collection of apparel but also with a freshly launched Instagram account. Go follow them!
To mark the news, we had the pleasure of joining a handful of media in the Hamptons for the GapFit x AKT Summer Retreat. Settled in at the legendary Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, throughout the weekend we tested out GapFit’s latest range of fitness gear during a series of workouts lead by Canadian fitness personality Anna Kaiser of AKT In Motion.
In case you’re unfamiliar with Kaiser she opened her first studio in 2013 and boasts a star studded range of clients including Kelly Ripa, Sofia Vergara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Shakira, and more who train at her three studios located in East Hampton, Manhattan, and Connecticut.
After a lovely welcome dinner at Scarpetta, we headed off to bed early to the sound of the waves crashing on the Montauk shore, for a good nights rest before a busy two days of workouts ahead. Suited up in GapFit’s latest Blackout Technology mesh stripe high rise capris, Coolmax® bra, and their Breathe air twist-back tank, we headed off to AKT In Motion for our first, rather sweaty class of the day which fused circuit training with boxing and dance.
This GapFit look was definitely a favourite of the weekend, and also the one we felt the urge to burn after Anna Kaiser made us sweat from every possible pore. We loved the way the capris high waisted design kept everything locked down and sculpted during the workout while the GDry Moisture Wicking technology kept our unexposed skin dry. Available in a ton of different colours, prints, and styles, shop the entire selection of capris here.
On top we trailed the GapFit Breathe air twist-back tank in a sporty neon yellow, which surprisingly absorbed what felt like buckets of sweat, while working alongside the medium impact Coolmax® bra underneath. The bra provided excellent support through it’s four way stretch system, keeping us dry with the Coolmax® lining.
For the second workout of the day, we went the more graphic route with GapFit’s new Summer Sports gFast Cross Train capris in a flashy brush stroke pattern and matching medium impact strappy sports bra. Since this AKT In Motion class focused more on toning on a mat, using a yoga brick and elastic band, the matching set was the perfect look.
Following the second class we headed back to Montauk for a much needed cocktail before heading to dinner at The Surf Lodge. Fresh seafood really is the best reward after a long and sweaty AF day of werk!
On day two we stretched it out by the ocean in another Coolmax® bra in another fun pattern along with the sporty Lightweight mesh tank which made it feel like we weren’t sweating at all (even under the hot sun) during our rather painful foam rolling session working out all the kinks.
Thanks so much to our friends at GapFit for having us in The Hamptons!
