In a funny and somewhat unorthodox move, the 9th annual Roots Picnic announced their 2016 line-up with a little help from “Broad City” co-creators Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. The festival/picnic takes place in Philadelphia on June 4th at Festival Pier and is curated by the legendary Roots crew. The line-up announce is pretty hilarious and worth watching even if you aren’t planning on hitting up the festival. Although you may change your mind after seeing the full line-up.
This year the festival will play host to Usher (backed by the Roots), Future, and Leon Bridges all headlining, with The Roots also playing a solo set. Blood Orange, Kehlani, Migos, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, DMX, Metro Boomin, Swizz Beatz, Kaytranada, Willow Smith, and more will also be performing throughout the day.
