Rapper Kendrick Lamar is taking his advantage of his unique position as a role model to lead by example and affect change. In his latest Public Service Announcement, the Grammy-nominated Compton-born rapper takes a minute to promote the importance of mentoring in the Dave Meyers-directed “Pay It Forward” clip.
Sharing the impact a mentor had on him, Lamar exclaims that “If it helps the next kid become a better person in life, I will forever be aware of my influence and pay it forward.” He also shares never-before-seen photos from his visit to the White House, where he met and talked with President Obama. It’s a touching video and once again shines a light on the solid dude that Kendrick is. Watch above.
