We recap the best shows from yesterday, day 3, of Toronto Fashion Week aka World MasterCard Fashion Week. Check out our thoughts on Pink Tartan and Mackage’s Spring 2016 collections.

Pink Tartan Spring 2016

Pink Tartan

Kimberley Newport-Mimran brought Pink Tartan’s brand of chic and accessible luxury to the Spring 2016 runway with a 70’s flair. The groovy decade is everywhere right now, but Pink Tartan made it fresh by contrasting retro shades and patterns with the crispest white blouses and sleek beige separates. What’s-old-is-new silhouettes like cropped flare trousers sat alongside more recognizable shapes like midi skirts (in leather, so rad) with cropped tops, creating approachable ideas of how to wear the ’70’s trend this Spring.

Mackage Spring 2016

Mackage

Mackage always pleases with their instantly enviable outerwear and leather pieces on the Toronto Fashion Week runway. Spring 2016 did not disappoint, with a focus on season-appropriate outerwear and accessories. For the ladies, leather hot pants and bandeaus (maybe not the most practical combo!) met with perfect trench coats, while fringe played a starring role in sexy asymmetric leather skirts and single earrings grazing the models shoulders – I want to steal that look right now. For the guys, monochromatic short and bomber jacket combos dominated, punctuated with cool details like metal-trimmed leather ties.
