We’ve all done our fair share of crying during heart wrenching movies, but there’s nothing more embarrassing than the moment you exit a theatre with you mascara running down your face. With TIFF fully underway we thought it a rather apt time of year to share a round up of our favourite tried and true waterproof mascaras.
We’ve tried our fair share of products, from drug store brands to high end, and it always amazes us that some of them just aren’t actually waterproof, despite what their bold packaging might say. We’ve seen waterproof mascaras not streak, but flake off (even worse than streaking), and have even seen them completely disappear off lashes.
After lots of streaks and flakes, it’s safe to say we’ve narrowed down an albeit short list of the best waterproof mascaras to get you through TIFF looking fabulous.
Dior Show Waterproof Mascara
Dior Show Mascara is somewhat of a staple in many a makeup bags. We know so many people who swear by this mascara and only this mascara, and rightfully so, because it’s awesome! What’s even better is that there’s is a waterproof version. This beauty classic will lengthen, thicken and coat your lashes to perfection. You can actually dive into a pool and come right up with some luscious lashes. In case your not a fan of black lashes, the waterproof mascara is also available in blue and brown for $34 CAD.
Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Waterproof Mascara
We were skeptical when it came to the Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Waterproof Mascara. The spherical applicator was like nothing we’d ever used before, and we weren’t sure how seamless the application would be. We’re happy to report we were pleasantly surprised when we found application easier, more precise touching all our itty-bitty lashes in the outer and inner corners. The product is non-sticky and has excellent colour pay off thats also smudge-proof. It will even stay longer than 24 hours, if you let it. This mascara is available at your local Sephora store for $35 CAD.
Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara
Feel free to be the blubbering guest at the next screening, and still look flawless. Urban Decay’s Cannonball Ultra Mascara is a light-weight gel formula that sits beautifully on your lashes. It adds dimension and lengthens with a glamorous finish. It’s one of the best on the market and always seems to be sold out online and in-store. If you’re lucky enough to get a bottle or two, you’ll find them at your local Sephora for $24 CAD.
