It is with much sadness, that summer has kind of quickly disappeared. The chilly air that moved in last week, reminds us of what’s ahead. Cue the jaws soundtrack. In trying to raise our spirts and capture what’s left of summer, we put together the very best beauty products we tried out in the month of August. From liners to anti-aging gel, we have covered it all!
Check it out below.
Shu Uemura WARM & VIBRANT Eye Shadow Palette
The WARM X VIBRANT is a great colour collection for fall. The palette boasts six warm tones (three neutrals, and three vibrant shades), and the colour combinations are endless to transform your look from day to night. This and more Shu Eumura palettes can be purchased at select Hudson Bay’s or online.
NARS Audacious Mascara
NARS, you have outdone yourself. Again. This is one of the best mascara’s I ever used to date. The exclusive lash catching brush separates and lengthens your lashes all while remaining on your lashes for a good twenty-four hours. This mascara is especially great if you like added drama when it comes to your eye makeup. The formula is very fluid, allowing for multiple layers. Find this amazing product at all NARS Retailers.
Maybelline Lip Blur
Warning: You will want to purchase every shade.
These push-up cream pencils are amazing! They’re intensely pigmented, have great staying quality and the pencil-like tip makes precision a no-brainer. The pencil also has a smudger end, to blur the lip cream for a softer look. Lip Blur comes in ten shades and are only $10 CAD. You can purchase the Lip Blurs at your local drug store.
NeoStrata Anti Age Gel with Fruit Stem Cells
It’s a scary thought, but once we hit twenty-five our skin starts to age. It’s to our advantage to take preventative measures now, versus waiting to see actual crows-feet. The NeoStrata Anti-Age Gel is formulated with fruit stem cells and a breakthrough technology called Phytocelltec. It helps to reduce visual signs of aging and leaves skin looking firm and youthful. This product is a gel, so it doesn’t feel as heavy and pore-clogging as most overnight creams do.
Essence Eyelash Volumizing Powder
Let’s face it, we’re not all blessed with thick voluminous lashes. It’s unfair, I know. Lucky for us Essence makes a great product to help us achieve the most luscious of lashes. To get these lashes, start by applying a coat of your preferred mascara. Without letting it dry, dip the Essence spouli in the powder and dab on to lashes. Taking your mascara seal the powder on your lashes with a second coat. This will give your lashes a great boost, and make the eyes look more open and awake. Shockingly, this product is only $3.99 CAD. Start the car!
Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner, Blue
I’ve talked about Benefit’s They’re Real Liners before. It’s definitely the Queen of liquid liners. The AccuFlex tip allows for incredible precision and hugs the lash line. It will literally not move as long as you’re wearing it, keeping your cat eye looking fresh. Benefit has released the product in a few colours, and the blue is absolutely stunning. It’s a great pop of colour for fall, and is neutral enough to wear with a bold lip. You can purchase this product at any Benefit retailer.
MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
Makeup can be a risky thing. You never know if it will last all day, or if your foundation will fall (yes that happens) or your mascara will inevitably smudge. I find when trying new products it’s important to seal your makeup with a finishing powder. The MAC Prep + Prime is a staple product and one of the company’s most purchased products. The powder is light and perfect for sealing in foundation. You can pick up yours at your local MAC Store.
Urban Decay Brow Beater Microfine Brow Pencil and Brush
Brows are like the frame of your face. If they don’t look good, not much else will. If you’re one of these people with a naturally full brow that needs no shaping, just go away. However, if you’re like the majority of people, your brows aren’t even and perfectly shaped. The microfine point of the Brow Beater allows you to be incredibly precise when shaping and filling in the brow. The actual pencil is made with a blend of moisturizing Vitamin E, Argan Oil and Coconut Oil, making the application very smooth and also waterproof. The Brow Beater is available in four shades, and can be purchased at your local Sephora store.
MAC 35 Lash
When you don’t really feel like going all out with the mascara, false eyelashes can be a fun alternative. The MAC 35 Lash is a bit ridiculous for everyday wear (I do it all the time) but has such an angelic effect when applied, that you just might not want to leave the house without them. The 35 lash consists of little bundles of hair that start longer in the middle and taper off at the ends. If you’re comfortable applying and wearing them, you will most definitely love these lashes. Note: They sell out quickly! Call ahead to your local MAC store to make sure they have them in stock.
