Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer announced their sophomore album today titled Sounds Good Feels Good. The foursome gained attention last year by touring with One Direction and have already had several singles make the Billboard Hot 100, including their latest “She’s Kinda Hot.” News of the album came via Twitter. 5SOS occupy a place only acts like Justin Bieber and 1D enjoy, with every tweet racking up anywhere from 20K to 80K retweets.

Those of us feeling nostalgia for Sum 41, Simple Plan, and Good Charlotte recognize something familiar and exciting in 5SOS’ music. In fact, the band are once again writing with Benji and Joel Madden. If this generation’s “Fat Lip” comes out of it, we’re down.
