We dragged our WAYHOME hangovers across provincial boarders this weekend for one reason only, poutine. Just kidding, with 135,000 tickets sold, and just about 100 bands playing 6 stages, we made the trip for the 10 year anniversary of the little festival that could.
We began our beautiful day one with some Austin Texas rock care of Shakey Graves. He proved that one man with a guitar and a kick drum can make as much (or maybe more?) noise than a full band. Barrie native Bahamas was up next one the Vallee stage, he took the opportunity to make a couple sarcastic comments about Run the Jewels while grooving the Osheaga goers with hits like “Lost in the Light”. Alison Mosshart from The Kills made us abit dizzy with her pacing back and forth across the stage, but brought much needed energy to the afternoon. Chet Faker brought a couple new tracks, his blackstreet cover, and a handful of hits which had goers close to the stage singing and swaying along. FKA TWIGS COMMENTS HERE. Young Fathers brought the bass, while Schoolboy Q brought the heat to wrap up the day.
Stoked for day two! See our snaps below.
