Even though Crystal Castle singer and frontwoman Alice Glass left the group last October, to the cries of dismay from fans everyone, it would appear that the group is still very much alive. Today the Crystal Castles producer and brain trust Ethan Kath posted a new song, “Frail”, on the CC Soundcloud page. The song features distorted shrieking from a singer named Edith and could very easily slide into the bands musical catalog without a second thought. Accompanying the release of the track, Kath wrote an interesting and tell statement which:
i wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors. i think it can be empowering for her to be in charge of her own project. it should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs. (she’s not on Untrust Us. Not In Love, Vanished, Crimewave, Vietnam, Magic Spells, Knights, Air War, Leni, Lovers Who Uncover, Violent Youth, Reckless, Year of Silence, Intimate, 1991, Good Time, Violent Dreams etc.). people often gave her credit for my lyrics and that was fine, i didn’t care.
However, not long after that the statement was removed and replaced with a slimmed down version:
i wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors. i think it can be empowering for her to be in charge of her own project. <3
this is Edith on vocals
