Rudsak, Soia & Kyo, Farley Chatto & Lolë FW 2015 at Toronto Fashion Week

First up on day four of World MasterCard Fashion Week: Lolë. The Montreal-born brand has been making noise in the athletic apparel space of late, with their plans to open store fronts in Canada this year to showcase their successful line of yoga wear. For their WMCFW appearance, Lolë appealed to the luxury “fashion meets function” customer with their exclusive Fall/Winter 2015 collection, WHITE BY LOLË. A sophisticated mood was set with a yoga demonstration performed by models in all white, followed expertly layered athletic looks with designer details in neutrals and brights inspired by nature. Lolë took us from the yoga studio, to weekend errands, all the way to the slopes for Fall/Winter 2015 – we would love to carve out some turns in those flattering white snow pieces.

Next up, Farley Chatto. Inspired by the lavish lifestyle of Russia’s final monarch Czar Nicholas, design veteran Farley Chatto showed us his breathtaking idea of how the 1% kicks it – draped in the softest furs and in luscious jewel tones. Canadian runway mainstay Stacey McKenzie opened the show with thrilling authority, strutting in a full-length fur look with lots of leg and red lip. Stunning!

Next up, Soia & Kyo showed a gorgeous collection for Fall/Winter 2015, with a wide range of easy but refined looks. Founder and creative director Ilan Elfassy took inspiration from the shapes of the divided frozen landscape of Norway’s mountains and water, translating into soft silhouettes with round shoulders and long hemlines. A stand out was the soft print in various silhouettes that up close looked like a fuzzy abstract print, but translated to a sharp plaid from afar.

Montreal’s Rudsak rounded out the evening on a strong note. Set to the backdrop of an arrivals sign, the models acted as metropolitan commuters in travel-ready layered looks. A clever balance of street and elegance carried throughout the line – interesting boxy silhouettes mixed with sleek, fur-trimmed overcoats, the label’s staple leather moto jackets mixed with stand-out textured handbags. Black, as always, was the prevailing colour of the line, but it was balanced well with camel, ivory and a rich plum. These modern, effortless urban looks are what we want to wear for Fall/Winter 2015.
