Toronto’s own beloved textile designer Virginia Johnson has announced a new collection called Le Weekend. Set for release on March 9th at New York boutique Story (with a wider release happening in April), the beachy collection will feature swimsuits, cover-ups, towels, sunnies and accessories in gorgeous prints drawn by Johnson at her Toronto studio.
The collection is “all about summer and swim [and] brings back memories of vacations at my grandmother’s house on Lake Ontario,” said Johnson. “She is my biggest style inspiration and was never without a bright skirted swimsuit and straw hat. She also had a great sense of humour, and loved polka-dots, Hawaiian florals and brightly-coloured sunglasses.”
