Did you know Owen Pallett was absolutely brilliant? I mean, we always have but this new video for “In Conflict” off his album by the same name is just positively breathtaking. Premiering via Nowness the video stars Canadian model Meghan Collison styled beautifully throughout by Laura Jones in Raf Simons, Celine, Dries Van Noten, Alexander Wang, Prada, Jason Wu and more.
The subject matter of the clip, which is directed by Jason Last, explores moments of quiet conflict. According to Nowness Pallett had the following to say about it:
The song is about men; the ghost of my father whispering to me about human desire, and it’s about this moment in your life when you start to recognize that your body is a series of apparatus and you start to covet the bodies of people younger than you. I don’t identify as male, I identify as gender-queer, but I am very sympathetic whenever I see men throwing aside everything they have for the love of somebody new. It’s been the subject of so much poetry.
We loved this video so much we watched it twice. Watch below.
