We’re officially half way through summer, which means we’re more than half way through festival season. We just returned from Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal and after a few visits to my local WINNERS stores at College Park and Bloor Street in Toronto, I was pretty much set for the festival!
Festival dressing may seem easy if you’re flipping through a photo round-up on style.com, but for every gem of an outfit, there’s at least ten tweens wearing a neon bra as a shirt and a pair of ripped jean shorts. As a festival veteran there are a few outfit staples I’ve come to swear by over the years, the first of which being a comfortable printed dress. This will get you through at least one day of festival dressing nice and easy, probably on the last day when you’re a little too tired to put yourself together (but no one will notice because you’ll look fabulous anyway).
My second staple is a great pair of comfortable platform wedges; not only do they keep you towering over shorter people in the crowd, they keep your feet clean and dry (unlike flat sandals). Insider tip: wear them around before festival as much as possible so your feet get used to them. The last outfit staple I have to mention are of course accessories (but leave your floral crown at home, okay?). Who knows, you might just get mistaken for a star yourself if you find the right pair of Tom Ford sunglasses at WINNERS!
Here’s what I wore to the festival this year! My first outfit consists of the perfect printed dress by Diane von Furstenberg (WINNERS price $189.99, compare at $300+), a pair of Cole Haan espadrille wedges (WINNERS price $79.99, compare at $200+), a vintage bag, a pair of Karen Walker metallic sunglasses, a Kate Spade Saturdays monochrome necklace (WINNERS price $29.99, compare at $79.99), and the matching Kate Spade black enamel ring (WINNERS price $7.99, compare at $29.99). My second outfit centres around a dreamy silk Theyskens’ Theory silk t-shirt (WINNERS price $99, compare at $300+), which I paired with a simple black wash denim skirt (WINNERS price $29.99, compare at $79.99), my fuzzy Deadly Ponies bag, another pair of wedges, and a few accessories.
