2014 is right around the corner, and with it comes a slew of new makeup trends. Check out the six nom-worthy looks below.
1. An Oldie but a Goodie – Berry Stain
It’s spring time, we don’t want to go to dark with the berry shades. Using a stain is the perfect way to go, not too light, not to dark. Dab on some of your favourite clear gloss, a dab of cream blusher to your cheeks and you are good to glow.
2. Orange Crush
I die for the orange pout, it literally looks edible. Pair the pout with a nude eye for the ultimate pop.
3. Blue Velvet
Blue eye shadow is always a scary trend to try. You want to keep the shadow on your eyelid only; in no way or form should it go past the crease of your eye. Try out a vibrant cerulean or go cool in a powder blue shade. Pair your peepers with a nude lip, and go party like its 1985.
4. Cat Eye
I don’t think the cat eye is ever not trendy. It’s way too glam! One thing your want to make sure of is that your lines are clean. Smudges are not sexy. (Well sometimes they are, but you know what I mean). Try using Bourjois’ Double Ended Liquid Eyeliner and Eraser to achieve your perfect flick.
5. Iridescent Lids
This has to be one of my favourite trends for 2014. Like the blue shadows, white shades can be just as scary. I would use a pure pigment (loose powder form) as that sheen will tend to show more, and look beautiful under all lighting.
6. The Morning Dew
If you’re blessed with that flawless and supple skin, give me a shout and let me know your secrets. For those of you that want that ever so fresh, I –always-look-this-fantastic-in-the-morning look, try adding a dab of MAC Strobe cream to your moisturizer or foundation. If you don’t like wearing foundation, try dabbing just the cream to spots on your face that the sun hits first (cheekbones, bridge of your nose and your Cupid’s bow).
