It’s been a minute since we last caught up on our go-to skincare, so there are some not-so-brand new but still newish items on this list that I’ve been loving over the past few months into the summer season. We’ve veered into the haircare and self-care categories this time around, as we spend a little more time slowing down during the hot months.

Rhode Peptide Glazing Fluid, $44 CAD

Hailey Beiber’s famed skincare line finally launched in Canada earlier this year, and we quickly became big fans. It’s super clean and scent-free, which we frag-free girlies adore, and best of all, simple. We love the moisturizer peptide glazing fluid one-two punch, never mind that it’s Hailey’s signature for dewy, glazed skin, cause duh we all want to be like her. The Peptide Glazing Fluid lives up to the hype to hydrate and support the skin barrier, especially in the summer when you might be getting a bit more sun than you need on your face.

REN Skincare Perfect Canvas Smooth Prep & Plump Essence, $70 CAD

We love an essence in the summer months. It’s just so refreshing and the perfect way to prep and plump the skin before applying a little makeup. REN’s newish Perfect Canvas Smooth Prep & Plump Essence is on repeat for its healthy hydration thanks to ingredients like Bio-ferment, Hyaluronic Acid, and Polyglutamic Acid, as well as Marrubium Extract that gives the skin a layer of defence against pollution.

Dyson Airstraight, $699

Possibly the biggest launch in haircare tech this year came from Dyson (shocking) with the new Airstright product, which dries and straightens hair at the same time. It’s a total game changer for the curly-haired folks out there who spend hours on days when they’re going for a straight style. Working with intelligent heat control from glass bead thermistors (not hot plates as you might think) which regulate airflow temperature and protect the hair from heat damage. The Airstraight works on fully wet hair as well as damp hair with two different modes with high-pressure airflow at a precise angle to smooth and straighten hair as it dries. While the Airstright is a pretty penny at $699, it’s best to think about just how much time you’ll get back in your day. Time is money baby!

Grown Alchemist Skin Renewal Serum, $99 CAD

We love a serum that can make ones skin feel baby soft and this Grown Alchemist Skin Renewal Serum does just that. It’s lightweight for summer, and comes packed with potent Niacinamide, Ashwagandha and Echinacea which help the skin really chill and repair. With the air quality being less than awesome lately, we’re reaching for products that really help to protect against environmental aggressors (hello smoky wild fires) to help the skin build up a tolerance and ability to self-defend over time.

Guests On Earth Dunes At Dusk Candle, $65 CAD

We love a little natural candle moment to really help us get into the zen zone during our nighttime skincare routine and Toronto’s own Guests On Earth really nailed it with their Dunes candle. Not only does it smell amazing in a safe, natural way, Dunes invites you to welcome those calm desert vibes in each session. This one is a bit dark and broody, like a cloudy golden sunset you can’t look away from, with top notes of pine and bitter orange, middle notes of clary sage and clove, and base notes of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver. You won’t find any parabens, phthalates, or synthetic fragrances here, so rest easy for the full 55 minute burn on this one.
