Summer weather and beach season are upon us and we all want to look our best, both inside and out, and with the Rio Olympics forthcoming in the next couple months we’ve been thinking a lot about how our training routines and workouts are often inspired professional athletes. After all, they know how to persevere and push their limits when it comes to training better than almost anyone.

So when we heard Crest had teamed up with Canada’s top Heptathlete, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, we realized just how important a white smile can be in addition to training and stamina for athletes and, dare we say it, people like us. To put that to the test we were invited to an event in Toronto hosted by Crest, with Crest & Oral-B Consulting Dentist, Dr. Janet Tamo, and track and field coach and fitness trainer Alicia Bell from Train it Right, to whiten while we WERK!

After hearing from Dr. Tamo about on the ways she recommends maintaining a healthy white smile, Bell took us through a challenging hour-long track and field workout while we tested out the latest Crest 3D White® Whitestrips Luxe Supreme FlexFit, taking sips of water between intervals.

We had the chance to chat with Bell following the workout about the importance of feeling and looking your best, rocking a white smile everyday.

“When you’re confident (and your teeth are white) going into a workout, and you can laugh, smile and have fun while you rock your workout or class focusing on being you and doing your best.”

Bell is responsible for leading many teams to Olympic medals, so she knows better than most, how important self confidence is for success.

“Athletes need to be confident; especially when you’re on a national or international level and you don’t have that confidence, it’s going to affect your performance. When you walk out there owning it, you’re happy to be there and exude that confidence it shows in your performance and that’s huge for athletes.”
