As the temperatures rise and our schedules get busier, it’s time to give your summer office wardrobe a bit of a revamp. It’s getting hotter outside, so I thought I’d give you a little inspiration on what you might wear to the office this time of year, and likewise how to accessorize that same look to wear into the evening for post-work drinks or dinner. One of my favourite places to find pieces for the office is Winners, so naturally I went shopping at their location in the downtown core as well as Yorkville to score a selection of awesome pieces.
First off, I’m wearing a gorgeous silk abstract floral dress by Cynthia Rowley. It’s a great base piece with simple lines that makes it easily to dress up on a Friday when you’re feeling a bit fancier, and likewise softened by a light chambray cardigan jacket from Joan Vass Studio and a pair of fun flats from Spanish shoe brand Sixty Seven like I’ve done here.
Pairing the look with a simple delicate gold charm necklace and leather tote for the daytime works well so you can easily carry a change of shoes and a clutch to take you into the evening. With the simple switch of a leather jacket and a few accessories, I transitioned these pieces from feminine office appropriate attire, into a fun and edgy look for after dark. I also changed up my necklace for a different statement and popped on a cool pair of Shelley’s London platforms I scored at the Yorkville Winners (hot tip: there’s more Shelley’s London to be found at Winner too, so you’d better hurry!).
Leave your glasses at your desk, throw on a little dark plum lipstick and you’re set to go. Effortlessly shifting from day-to-night in a few quick changes. I mean come on, a girls gotta look fab, no matter the time of day.
